I have been here before and it was excelllent, but today it was awful. They told my friends when they showed up that there was nor eservation under my name. We were already sitting at the table.Good thing they looked inside the dining room. We ordered appetizers and even the server was shocked when they were all brought out together in about five minutes. Then we made the mistake of ordereing our entrees.Five minutes later they were onthe table. It took us longer to get to the restaurant then it did to eat at his restaurant. I will never return. DR.T

Went there for brunch with a few people. I ended getting the burger because I was pretty hungry and I saw breakfast dishes coming out that looked on the small side. My burger was way under cooked for what I had requested, and the flavor was unimpressive and even with Brie and (supposedly) truffle it was pretty bland. The garlic herb fries were super tasty however and the coffee was good. The service was wonderful and the hotel is beautiful, but the food itself was completely unmemorable. Don't know that I would go back for more than drinks.

Holy Moly I'm dreaming about truffles after this place. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 decor 4.5/5 (didnt like the carpets :P) Truffle Pizza -WOW but one piece per person is enough. (Very strong flavor) Truffle Egg - So yummy and I'm still trying to figure out how they fried a poached egg. Tuna Tartar - Very stuble and delicious Hamachi Sashimi - Delicious Crab cake - Yummy Adult Mac and Cheese w lobster - Awesome Filet Mignon - Still craving more Short rib - amazing Lobster - (the girls who ordered it said it was ok.) Black Truffle Fritters - Sooooo good Desserts Souffle - One of the best I've ever had Caramel ice cream? - amazing Lava cake - Really good but similar to most restaurants. Hope that helped.

Excellent execution is the word of the day. I've been a Jean-Georges fan for years so having J&G finally in my backyard is awesome. The lunch menu is uninspiring, but where the menu is boring and sedate, the restaurant finds its stride in preparing excellent foods. The butternut squash soup was delicious and paired familiar flavors with a few innovations (cranberry foam). The fries were dutifully crisp and tasty and the filet was perfectly cooked. My companions raved about their meals and the desserts were across the board outstanding. My son's pizza (kid's menu) was legitimately good and a bargain at $12. Service was competent and the wine list was interesting, varied and deep. Now the misses. The decor is reminiscent of a tired hotel conference room with a puke brown decor. At least they could not spoil the view. The prices are South Beach high for basics (Filet for $40). As my son said, how can they charge so much for such a small portion?

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! Service was VEYOND awful. Waiter mislead my Wife by indicating that the Red Snapper Entree was NOT SPICY, when, in fact, it was VERY SPICY. Waiter recommended the Boiled Halibit to my Daughter. The Fish was tough to the point where she did NOT eat it. When we summoned the Waiter to disclose our issues with the food, he said "That's the way it is". The wait time between courses was WAY, WAY, WAY too long. Further, we had to request that our Water Glasses be refilled on 4 occasions. This is NOT what I expect for a $300 Meal. This place is VERY, VERY, VERY OVERPRICED!!! Bottom line is that the Service is awful and the J&G Grill is a RIP-OFF. There are many better places to dine in Bal Harbour. Save your PRECIOUS TIME and save your HARD EARNED MONEY and skip this joint. It really SUCKS!!

I really wanted this to be a five start experience but a lot of the staff seemed inexperienced or not trained to five star level. Lots of lovely staff in uniform at J & G Grill but, alas, we waited 20 mins to make a drink order and over 30 mins. to order dinner. Our waiter seemed completely confused and out of place. He knew nothing about the wine list. The husband's drink was wrong. The food, however, was excellent. Kudos to Chef. We'll give you another try in hopes that things improve.

We went for a Father's Day Brunch and hate to say that we were very disappointed :( The Bellini cocktails were very good. Our waiter listed the specials so we both ordered the steak, lobster hash, and fried egg special. It was one of the worst steaks we have EVER had. I am not sure if the steaks were previously frozen or water logged or what, but they were like flavorless sponges that were severely over cooked. When we sent them back for a recook, they were brought back out on a little plate and scooped with a fork to be put on the plate on the table. No one apologized or checked back to see if they were better. This is hardly the service one would expect from a restaurant within a St Regis and for a dish that is priced at $55/plate with automatic gratuity as well. The dish my 4 year old son ordered was described on the menu as having capers. When the dish arrived w/out capers my son asked the server for a side of capers. The server gave my son an odd look, walked away, and did not return w/ the requested item. We may return to the bar for cocktails as they were good and the setting is beautiful, but we have had better meals priced less elsewhere. We really wanted to like it as it is in our neighborhood.

J&G gets two stars for the main menu selection. Small and unimaginative, even by Miami standards, and a major disappointment given the Jean-Georges name attached to the restaurant. Snapper, salmon, halibut, lobster, grilled tuna, chicken, Wagyu steak, veal chop, lamb shank. No sign of confit of suckling pig, sea trout draped in trout eggs, or broiled squab that you might get at Jean-Georges in NYC. Don't come here expecting an adventure. J&G gets four stars for execution. The appetizers were more interesting than the entrees and done very well. Although we were forced to order unfavorite entrees like Wagyu steak and grilled tuna due to the small selection, the flavors and presentation were very good. The steak was a little salty. The truffle fritters were bready and had minimal truffle flavor. Truffle pizza was much better. J&G gets five plus stars for desserts. This was unexpected. Possibly the best desserts I've ever had in Miami, especially the chocolate mousse and pumpkin tart. Expect to pay close to $100 per person with a bottle of wine and included service. By the way, including a service charge and a tip line (not "additional tip") on the check is very tacky and better suited to Lincoln Road tourist traps than to this level of restaurant. We won't be back (no entrees left to try) but we'd stop by again for dessert if it wasn't a zillion miles away in Bal Harbour.

Beautiful restaurant! Staff could not have been nicer. Really enjoyed the appetizers. My short rib was cold in the middle, so I just canceled the order as I was full. Tasted the salmon--very tasty and the veal chop- a bit dry for me. The dessert, Carmel ice cream went over well!

5 stars - YES. We came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by lots of wonderful details including the food. The views are great, the service was superb, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I had the fresh pea soup that was presented with Parmesan cream foam and fresh pea shoots, wow...sooooo delicious! Then I had the yellowtail sandwich with fresh cut herb fries - this dish was large and very filling. A really good value, I expected half the amount of food for the price! MY husband had the kobe beef hamburger with truffles and my daughter the truffle and fontina cheese pizza. I've never seen that many truffles in any dish anywhere - the pizza was loaded with truffles! She also had a fresh ginger soda that really puts ginger ale to shame. The burger looked good too, although I did not try it - he ate the whole thing! We will return, at some point, maybe not this trip, but we will be back! Our server brought us a small little bowl of chocolate almonds because they were having trouble with the electricity and our bill was taking some time - I am only mentioning this to point out how attentive they are at the St Regis - definitely worth the trip!

Finally I found that New York restaurant I have been searching for since I got to Florida 10 years ago only this is better. From the greetings by the valet, to the honoring of our reservation, to the fabulous service by our waiter, Constantine, it just kept getting awesome. The interest by Sonnett Malan George, the assistant general manager and again Constantine insuring my car would be waiting for me, made me almost forget my fabulous meal but not quite. I have subsequently made two more future reservations and know my new go to place. Kudos not enough but suggest everyone take my review seriously, seriously.

Underwhelmed and overcharged. Yes, the room is chic and inviting with its cool yet comfortable grays and ebonies. The view of the ocean beyond the pool highlights the best of our part of south Florida. When the sun is down the broad expanse of darkness can be somewhat unsettling. Wait staff is very earnest but not as attentive in the long run as the initial embrace might suggest. The food. Everything sounds wonderful and is presented with appropriate artistry however the "value" is debatable. Value, meaning the" that received for that given". The "bread basket" had just the right amount of high quality pane accompanied with good butter and sea salt for those who like. The "amuse bouche" that evening was a shot glass of peach gazpacho that did not speak of soft fruit but strong vinegar. The appetizers were all very lovely and well executed. The portion size and actual harmony of flavors and textures left us wanting. The five wafer thin and matchbook wide slices of hamachi were luscious and piquantly dressed. The five small but plump shrimp were not as well dressed with an overly tart dollop of yogurt mayo, bitingly sharp ginger gelee and bitter strands of radish. Appet-TEASER would be a more apt name but the 18 price tag doesn't tease as much as annoy. We shared a "large" portion of lemon fettuccine and though it made for no more than four or five twirls between the two of us the egregiously overcooked pasta left us with "enough". The highly praised albarino never arrived with the pasta course but the other two timid germanic whites did make it to the appetizer portion of the night. Both the veal chop and braised short rib were of high quality, delicate size and harmonious flavors. The kitchen did an admirable job of splitting each and serving both. While the main courses are in the 30-40 range the prices are more justifiable here though neither portion was greater than 8-10 ounces of protein. The two accompanying reds were both pleasing and interesting; black pine and a Bordeaux. Desserts were ho hum, basically every possibility is a variation on the ice cream and something theme. The creme brûlée with cinnamon ice cream was delicious as is and marred by the intrusion of raspberry foam. The sorbet with fruit was sorbet with fruit. At the table we thought "nice, a bit more expensive than necessary but a definite maybe again" At the valet, the 12 WITH validation delivered the final verdict.
(3)Alicia D.
The service and the place was very nice. the food was OK nothing impressive. very expensive and small pates. Also you have to pay $12 for valet even if you validate your ticket in the restaurant. If you don't validate the ticket you will pay $20.

My wife and I had a very good experience here last night. Nice restaurant, professional and enthusiastic service. Nice dining room with a view off the ocean. Food was good. We started with fettuccine in a light zesty lemon cream sauce which was very good. Fettuccine was cooked perfectly and were excellent as well. Then had parmesian crusted chicken which was good but overly salted. Texture was very crunchy and reminded me of Kentucky Fried Chicken 30 years ago (before they altered their at the time great recipe). It came with haricot verts in a lemon cream sauce. Shared herb fries and sautéed spinach. Including 2 glasses of wine, tax and tip it was roughly $160. We left fully satisfied with no room for dessert.

This was our fourth visit to the St. Regis Hotel and JG Grill, it's fine dining establishment. There is a whole new attitude here of customer service, smiling faces, informed waitstaff, and 5 star quality. Thanks to a new General Manager and a new Executive Chef, this excellent restaurant has just reached the upper echelons of Miami's Best choices. The menu has always been full of some of Jean George's finest recipes, and Chef Brad executes them perfectly. But now they are featuring some amazing dishes on the Miami Spice menu! Octopus, beet salad or salmon sashimi are the starters, with Trout, chicken or steak for entrees. Fine quality and good sized portions. The ambiance is very easy with chocolate brown decor, stainless light fixtures and 25 feet of window wall overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The new GM, Robert Delarosa, has a vast experience from local to Las Vegas, Casa Tua and Azul, and he really aims to please. This fine place is truly as good as it gets. It is very hard for me to believe the poor reviews from Rachel and Adam shown here. It's like they went to a different restaurant.

Service 5/5 Food 5/5 What a five star experience .Starting from the Valet until the last moment we left. We went there for Valentine with my husband. The staff was so polite and classy that was unreal .I thought for a moment i'm royalty because i was treated like one, before you look up somebody is present at your table to assist. Our server gave us the best service that i had ever had in my life (we go to restaurants at least 3-4 times a week). His name is Neno-Handsome, Charming ,Knowledgeable. We just had to tell him what is our food preference (seafood ) and he did everything else .He recommend us amazing vine (Amazing White Rioja ) for appetizers Diver Scallops-the best i ever had , Main dish my husband had - Slow Cooked Scottish Salmon Mashed Potatoes Truffle Dressing and i had Local Red Snapper with Nut and Seed Crust Sweet and Sour Jus , and for dessert we had Warm Chocolate cake with Vanilla Ice -Cream. Amazing food paring . I do not have enough words to describe the amazing service we received . The price is not that bad for a 5 star restaurant All together AMAZING AMAZING experience and we will be back for sure. Thank you

The food is very good. I've been here twice for lunch, a long time between visits, and the menu was the same. I'd like to see more seasonal variation. The waitstaff needs to be more attentive and alert to the needs of their customers.

Fabulous dinner last night! You must try the pea soup with Parmesan Foam! To die for. Love the ahi tuna with ginger, wasabi and soy! Wow!!! Enjoyed everything we had!

If you want the noise, go, if not go elsewhere. I have been twice and the experience only got worse. To start, I don't like to eat in dark places and I have to wonder why a chef who spends time on the presentation of the food, wants to have the creation, presented in the dark. Each time I have visited the restaurant, the water refills are not cold which is because the jar is not kept in a chilled environment. Overall, the hot food was not served hot. Several had the grilled chicken and even with adding the provided sauce, the chicken was dry, so dry even with the sauce, it was not edible. Both times, the hearts of palm salads had too much pepper and if the salad is spicy, the menu should so reflect. The spinach and potato sides were tepid when served and only got colder. 2 of the steak orders were served correctly done but the medium rare was served medium well. Staff was not present and we were having to continually ask for water but in defense of the staff, it appeared that the room was understaffed for the number of tables jammed in the room. There are much better up scale restaurants in Miami/Miami Beach where you can get a signature executive chef meal with better ambiance and service.

Just hosted a dinner for eleven people. The wait staff was delightful. The fish delicious, however, the Filet Mignon was un-edible. They graciously deducted the filets from the bill. I doubt anyone in my party will ever return. The decor in the dining room was lovely. They seated us in a "private" area which was not so lovely, including having a full station for the waiters in the immediate area.
(2)Maggie C.
Stopped in for lunch and from the time we entered the hotel until we left everyone was really friendly and accommodating. We were seated at a great table by the window and our waiter immediately came over to offer us something to drink. We had a chicken chipotle sandwich which was delicious and was accompanied by perfectly seasoned and crispy French fries. We also ordered the salmon salad with ginger soy dressing. The salmon was cooked as ordered and had a nice sesame crust. Definitely will go back.

Great all around. Beautiful room (though it does have an air of "hotel dining" with the carpeted floor, and overall vibe) but nothing is wrong with that. It's a bit of an older crowed...as is the demo of the St. Regis where it is housed. Service was fantastic, a minor hiccup or two that were totally passable (poured flat water in our sparkling glasses....little slow on the wine refills) but really great fine dining service over all. Black truffle pizza was outstanding...though not my absolute favorite crust in Miami (see FLB), a salmon sashimi special was outstanding, and the Meyer lemon fresh fettucini app was perfect, so fresh and refreshing! The salmon entree was wonderfully sauced, though cooked to medium rather than medium rare; though my veal chop was cooked perfectly and the buttery richness of this milk-fed calf was just great. Desserts were wonderful, had an apple crisp dish and a sunday that was dolce de leche, I think...with nuts and chocolate and was great. The whole hotel is really beautiful, and best to go before sunset, as the ocean views turn to black when the sun goes down. While it definitely leans toward "occasion restaurant", fortunately we have lots of occasions....so we will be back without doubt!

I've heard good things about J & G and even been to another one of Jean Georges' restaurants, but to be honest I was expecting this to be 4 stars good, so giving the 5th star is saying something! First off, the St. Regis is absolutely beautiful and just walking through as you head to J&G will blow your mind! We even walked around the outside pool after dinner as this hotel is too spectacular not to take it all in. Upon arriving we were shown promptly to our table next to the windows with the seats positioned just right to watch the ocean view fall into darkness. Very romantic if you're going for that kind of thing. We opted to come here to try the Miami Spice menu, which was beautifully displayed right next to their regular menu and highly encouraged for you to order off of. As Chef Kilgore has left J&G you may have some reservations about the food, but trust me, whoever has taken over is doing an amazing job and I was not disappointed at all in the food (more on that to come). Originally I was going to do a cocktail, and even noted that the Miami Spice menu listed three cocktails at a slightly discounted price which was nice, but in the end I went with the optional wine pairing for $35 which was a great deal! The sommelier was one of the best and you could tell how passionate he was about the wines. Each course was paired with a different wine depending on your selection, and since my dining partner is into sharing I was able to try his 3 wine selections as well :) The service here was delightful and we were well checked on and made sure everything was to our liking with every course. The first course came out quickly and then slowed down so we could enjoy our wine and not feel rushed. Ok, so food, the most important part - 1st course - sashimi and the soft shelled crab. Both were delicious, with the soft shelled crab being my favorite solely due to the sauce. *Bread - a variety of bread came out with the 1st course, served with salted butter and truffle butter. 2nd course - hangar steak and pork shoulder. The steak was good, and perfectly cooked, but really the pork shoulder was amazing. So much flavor, complimented with the mustard seed and parsnip! *We also added the black truffle cheese fritters. If anything, these were the biggest disappointment and I felt the cheese should be a slightly sharper variety. We ended up letting our salted butter from the bread melt on these which helped somewhat. 3rd course - panna cotta and salted yogurt. The panna cotta was light and tropical, but the salted yogurt had me wanting to lick the plate! In true Jean Georges fashion the check was brought out with a parting gift - strawberry macarones which were just right to finish the evening. Very happy I chose to finally do J&G for Miami Spice this year, it's well worth it and was a great experience!

Came here looking forward to Miami Spice based on its amazing performance last year. I don't know if they changed chef's or if the line cooks had a bad day, but I was very disappointed in the food. The dessert was Amazing and seemed up to quality of Spice 2014. The service was amazing. Will also have to valet for $15 even if you get validation from hostess. Skip for Spice.
(2)Steve E.
Phenomenal. I thank God we did not venture out on our last night into the madness that is Miami. This is an oasis. Hamachi Sashimi is in the top 20 or whatever of things we have ever eaten. Dry aged strip was perfect, and the sundae is out of sight. Service, food, wine list, ambience are all on point.

My number 50th review goes to this little guy! Disclaimer: this review is based on a Breakfast-ONLY experience. J&G Grill is located in the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, which that in itself screams quality. The experience from top down was truly remarkable in great part due to the exacting service and multiple [positive] interactions with the restaurant manager. I came in at 9:30 on a Saturday morning and was seated immediately. The host and manager made sure we got one of the best seats in the house [window seat with the spectacular beach and pool view] without us even requesting or asking for it. The staff had really unique European names and I'd have to guess that most were French. My guest opted for the breakfast buffet which consisted of a delectable spread of necessary breakfast goodies: pastries and dough goods, salmon|caper eggs benedict, french toast, crispy bacon and chicken sausage, scrambled eggs, antipasti bar, cold cuts bar, fresh fruits, overnight oats, yogurt, etc. etc. etc. Even the pickiest eater would've been pleased. The buffet also came with a mimosa|champagne bar which was unlimited (yes!) which should be a given for breakfast everywhere. Our server made sure my guest was happy and even offered to have the kitchen whip-up some fresh 'any way you want them' eggs. I chose the a la carte ordering and the server was kind enough to offer me unlimited mimosas also. For my meal, I got the Huevos Rancheros, which wasn't over-the-top and nothing to proclaim of, but was filling and somewhat tasty. In general, I dropped a star for the restaurant primarily because a few of the buffet items seemed to have been sitting for too long (english muffin on the benedict was tough to cut through and the french toast was hard on the edges). This just shows that perhaps the food items were not being eaten as quickly as they should and thus, the staff weren't turning the items often enough with fresh refills. Cheers
(4)Daniel C.
Beautiful ambiance right when you walk in to the St. Regis. We started off with the Buratta and Truffle pizza both of which were the highlight of the meal. My girlfriend ordered the wreck fish and I had the slow cooked salmon, both very good but a bit over priced and small. Most dishes come solo without sides. Service was exceptional.
(4)Carolina H.
Beautiful place and great food specially the black truffle pizza. It is so delicious! 100% recommended.
(5)Maryam R.
This place is hands down the best restaurant I've been to. The food and service is definitely top notch! We dine here every couple of months and never have been disappointed. I recommend caviar topped egg, it's to die for! The tuna tartare and seared foie gras are also some of my favorites. They have a great selection of fish as well as delicious wine to pair it with. I've been to almost all of the higher end restaurant in the Dade county area and none of them compare to this place. Consistently amazing! Definitely recommended!
(5)Roseflore T.
We went for Miami Spice. They didn't have the soft crab appetizer but the fried lobster substitute was well worth it. The pan roasted yellowtail snapper was delicious. We ordered two sides items (truffle cheese as mashed potato) The best mashed potato hands down. Service was excellent! Definitely would do this again!
(5)Eric W.
While visiting Miami, my wife and I made a last minute decision to go to J&G grill. This was probably one of the best decisions we made the entire trip. The service from the second you walk in is phenomenal. Every person who works in the restaurant makes it their point to meet your every need. We got to the restaurant an hour before our reservation (which was probably not needed as they had several open tables) and sat in the bar for cocktails. They had a decent craft beer selection, a little pricey but that was to be expected. My wife had a ginger margarita which was good, not her favorite margarita but good flavor. I had the Parmesan chicken as my main course which had a delicious crispy cheese coating. I typically do not like sauces but the buttery sauce with the chicken was great. I also had the truffle cheese fritters, which were different than I expected with a soft almost foamy center. I think I would call them fried jalapeño cheese pillows if I were to name them. My wife had the special, a striped bass with promesco sauce. The sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the fish and she ate every last bite. She had the smashed potatoes which were incredibly garlicy and had a spiciness to them we were not expecting but were delicious all the same. For dessert we had the warm chocolate cake. This was the perfect end to a wonderful meal.

My favorite restaurant of all time. Not only is the food sophisticated, delicious, and interesting, the restaurant is incredibly romantic. This is the second year in a row I've gone to J&G for my birthday, and it was just as exquisite as I remembered. The flavors that the Chef Kilgore has created in these dishes take your pallet to other dimensions. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu and all our dishes were perfectly executed, and mindblowingly delicious. For apps: I had the spiced rubbed robata quail & my BF had the ricotta and crab raviolo in a langoustine & carrot emulsion. Both were amazing. For dinner: I had the cider glazed short rib with yogurt grits, marrow & mushroom fricase, w/apple mostarda. Hands down, best short rib I've ever had. EVER. The contrast of the yogurt grits with the rich short rib, and then combined with the sweetness of the apple-- wow. My BF had the local snapper with nut and seed crust, in a sweet & sour sauce. Also delicious! For all you carrot cake lovers out there, do not miss out on their carrot cake desert! Other than the cream cheese sorbet and candied carrots that it comes with, I can't identify 90% of the foams and sauces and garnishments that came with the CC, but when all is said and done, the combination is an astonishingly done desert. I can't say enough how much I love this place. This is truly a fine dining experience. From the moment you walk into the St Regis, the elegant ambiance envelopes you. This is a guaranteed hit for a special occasion dinner with a loved one. Bon Appetite!
(5)Samuel L.
Love this place! I have been here several times and it has always been great! The menu changes every 3 months. If you get a steak ( and I would recommend getting ) I would get the black pepper corn condiment. Delicious!

My first 5 star review since moving from S Ca! BF took me for my b'day. Oh my:) Great table with view of water, incredible wine list...Billecart Salon Champgne. Need I say more???? Grilled Octopus, Hamachi Sashimi , Grilled Lobster and truffle fries ! Now I can go to the chair! Service was impeccable , ambiance beautiful. Too top if off, we went outside to get a cab , and as it was late one of the doormen was going off duty and was afraid we would wait too long.... He drove us to the Ritz !!! Is that incredible ???? Will def stay at the St Regis on next trip to S Fla!:)

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars, because everything was just out of this world! From the moment you walk into the St Regis Hotel in Bal Harbour, you know you are in for a very special treat, but what we experienced was way beyond our wildest dreams. We began our evening in the St. Regis Bar and Wine Vault, with a glass of champagne and a risotto ball served with balsamic strawberries, it had a perfect taste and texture and we found it to be very enjoyable. The Wine Vault is a must see, so relaxing to enjoy a drink and a light bite with friends and it is decorated so elegantly. The entire area boasts incredible works of art, that one must really see and adds such an enjoyable visual enhancement to the experience. The actual wine vault itself is a work of art at well, with a very extensive collection. As we walked from the bar area to restaurant we were greeted with a very warm welcome from the GM Robert and we spoke about menu items we were excited to try and he recommended a few of his favorites as well. He showed us to very romantic table built for 2 that on a clear day you could see over the ocean and it set scene for what a very romantic anniversary dinner for us. Robert has assembled an incredible staff and each and every person who works there has such an incredible attention to detail. All of our food was prepared exactly how we ordered it, each course brought out at the exact perfect moment, each piece of silverware cleared and replaced as if it were done magically, our glasses of wine always topped off at the exact perfect moment. I have never had service so perfect before in my entire life. Robert made sure every little detail was perfect, he heard us mention we forgot out cigarettes in the car, and a few moments later 2 cigarettes were served to me on a very nice platter, he remember I mentioned it was our anniversary and we given a personalized dessert as wall as a card sign by the entire staff of J&G grill. The food here is incredible and the service can not be beat! I will not be surprised if this restaurant becomes the first 5 star restaurant in Miami as rated by Forbes Magazine. If you love food and want to spoil yourself with incredible cusiine and great service, then look no further, the J&G Grill is the place you want to be.

I am sooo upset!! The waitor last night treated my friends and i horribly!!! Was soo rude!! First off took 20 min for water. Then was short with us. Laughed at how we orderd. Spoke under his breathe saying rude thjngs to us. Worst experience i have ever had!!!!! Then when apps came the beet salad tasted like poison!!! We ended up leaving and going to the sushi place next door which was amazing!! The manager was notified and was very polite and helpful but i will never go back to this place!! This waitor should be fired and not be in the hospitality industry!! I was shaking literally!! Fuming!! Soo hurtful and rude and embarassing!
(1)Blair S.
Head chef Brad Kilgore is incredible. No matter what you order, you can't go wrong. The food is just out of this world. There is a reason why the president dines here when in town! Some of my favorite dishes- swordfish tataki, the orange dusted scallops, Maine lobster with the Meyer lemon risotto, the creamed spinach, hamachi sashimi- just to name a few! Also- one of the best dirty martinis I've ever had! Not surprising coming from a Jean George restaurant. Bottom line: When you want to splurge for a meal in miami, there are many options- however few are actually worth it. This place? Absolutely worth every penny!

We brought my dad here for father's day this year. The location is impressive. Walking through the lobby is like being in a super ritzy house of mirrors and then when you walk into J&G you're greeted by a breathtaking view of their pool and the beach. We sat by the window and couldn't help but take about a million pictures. I started with the lychee raspberry bellini which was sweet and refreshing. We ordered a side of the black truffle cheese fritters as an appetizer and we were dying over them. They were so delicious and if they were not $12 an order (for about 6 of them, I think), we would have made several more orders. It's definitely one of the things on the menu that you must try. Among the four of us, we had the eggs benedict, omelette, french toast, and the fettuccine. The potatoes that were served with the egg dishes were awesome. I stole a bunch from their plates. My brother's french toast was so delicious. It had a nice crispy crust on the outside and was fluffy in the middle. The accompanying syrup was perfection. My fettuccine was superb. Even though the portion was a bit small, the flavors were perfect. I will definitely get it again when I come back. Minus one star because the service was a bit slow and not as friendly as we would have hoped for a special occasion, but nothing that would keep me from returning. J&G was the perfect place to take my dad and I know we will return in the future.

This place is da bomb. Second time my wife and I have dined here. The food, the ambiance, the service. All exceptional both times we have dined here. Great for a date night. We love the sweet pea soup. I could chug a gallon of that stuff. The beef tenderloin was also delicious. The place was pretty packed when we went on a Saturday night and the waiter advised that it might take 25 minutes or so for our food to come out. A few minutes later he swung by and poured me another glass of wine and did not charge me for it. He said "To keep you patient while you wait". That is amazing service and creates a dining experience, not just dinner. I will for sure be back!

What a delightful meal. Also the ambiance was perfect. What was so good, you ask? Well, here we go: 1. Hamachi Sashimi -OMG. So fresh with such a lovely sauce. 2. Filet Mignon (my husband ordered) - Perfect cook. Chimichurri excellent. Better than in Argentina (apologies to Argentines) 3. Veal Chop WITH foie gras - So sensational. Tender, perfect cook, sauced beautifully, YUMMMMY 4. Mashed potatoes-Ohhhhhh Wonderful 5. Jean Georges' signature sundae- incomparable. The whole meal was mouth-watering and special and not to be surpassed.

The food and service were simply spectacular! The waiter was very nice and unpretentious. He explained that for the Miami Spice menu, which we did, the chef tries a few new things, as well as bringing his long-standing classics at a much more affordable price. Every dish was very creative and beautifully presented, but what stood out the most was the Snapper dish, which was heavenly! The only small disappointment was that they still make you pay $15 for parking, which is uncanny for a restaurant of this class.

My girlfriend and I dined at J&G this past weekend during our trip to Miami. Everything about our meal here went perfect! We showed up for our 7:30 reservation and we were seated immediatly at our table, with a perfect view of the full moon over the beach. I ordered the Filet Minion, she ordered the Red Snapper and we both shared the mashed potatoes. The steak and the red snapper were both cooked to perfection. I would even go as far as saying the filet was one of the top 3 prepared steaks I have had in my lifetime. The mashed potatoes? they were on another level! probably the best mashed potatoes I have ever had, creamy with the perfect amount of butter! For dessert our waiter recommended the chocolate cake and we respectably went with different choices. I had the cheesecake with the passion fruit sorbet which just melted in my mouth it was unbelievably good. My girlfriend had the salted caramel ice-cream sundae with popcorn which she was not crazy about. She was disapointed after being recommended this by a friend so the waiter insisted that she try to chocolate cake after the not so great experience. Needless to say he brought out the chocolate cake which was unbelievable! What really took our experience from 4-Star to 5-Star was the service we received from our waiter. I am actually disappointed I can not remember his name but I will say that he made our J&G experience 5-star. We both agreed while walking out of the St. Regis that we have never experienced such professionalism while dining anywhere else. He paired my wine perfectly with my meal and he picked up the chocolate cake since he insisted we try it. I must say we have dined at many steakhouses and I will say that the experience we had at J&G was unmatched and worth every dollar. We will definitely be returning during our next stay in Miami.

J&G Grill has really good gourmet food. We Ordered off the Miami Spice menu. For starters, We ordered the quail and the white tuma apetizers, and for the main course short ribs and red snapper. All the souses were to die for. The deserts, especially the key lime tart were Very good. This could easily be the best spice menu In Miami, for value and quality.

It was delish, great ambience but service was slow and they didn't come around to our table to much to see if we were happy.

J&G Grill is located in the St. Regis Bal Harbour. Once you hit Bal Harbour, you can tell it embodies two words: chic sophistication. Walking into the St. Regis was just incredible. The decadent mirror halls really blew my mind. Arriving into J&G, I was impressed with the comfortable, yet elegant ambiance. The floor to ceiling windows were just stunning. From the dining tables to the painting selection, and lighting, no thing in the restaurant was unthought. This sleek design was paired with some fabulous background jazzy, sexy, and chic jazz sounds. At first we weren't sure if we were getting appetizers; however, knowing how much we liked Jean Georges in the past and given that we probably wouldn't be back in a while, we couldn't say no. We started off with the Prawns. The second you put the took a bite, the fusion of flavors that embodied all things sweet and savory came to life. Next up was the Black Truffle Pizza with Fontina Cheese. I do not eat cheese regularly, but made an exception and boy oh boy was I happy. The truffles were so fresh and delectable. I could have eaten the whole thing myself! (But then how would I have had room for the remaining dishes??) I had the local red snapper as my main dish. Never have I had such a fabulous fish. At first, the sweet and sour broth made me question how much I wanted the plate, but John, our waiter, insisted it was not what one would imagine for "sweet and sour". I'm so happy I took his advice. And then there were the BRUSSEL SPROUTS. HOLY BEJESUS, these bad boys were to die for. Everything about the night during the main course was fantastic. We could only expect the same for dessert, but boy were we blown off our feet. The desserts were really top notch. While we had had a lot of food, there was no way to stop now! I was so excited to try the desserts by Antonio Bachour, who was named of of 2011 "Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America". Go big or go home here, my friends. We went BIG.

Last night was our third or fourth visit to J&G Grill. As usual, another GREAT meal!!! Decor, service, food, sweets.... all perfection! We also got to see Chef Bradley Kilgore and master Pastry Chef Antonio Bachour which is always nice. At the bar they were serving Inglenooks' Cask Cabernet by the glass. Yes a bit pricey ($30) but well worth it for the quality of this wine. Talking about the wine, for a $40 corkage fee, I always bring my own. Yesterday was no exception and sommelier Luis Mejia did a great job, as usual, decanting and serving our precious wine.

well. i came here because i want to try the other version of jean george restaurant (besides the new york one). me and my boyfriend ordered grilled fish and prime ribeye. the fish was alright but the prime ribeye omg. it was not cooked well. the middle portion was like rare like fresh from the butcher, i was so shocked, i thought it was just bad cooking because of the meat quality. but this is just uncooked. how can you serve something uncooked to the table. anyway i wouldnt recommend this restaurant for your visit. st regis hotel is great tho.

Lived up to the fanfare. Without question one of the premier restaurants in South Florida. Food was delicious, and their service is second to none. There's a reason The President and other heads of state have dined here in the past. A trendy and upscale restaurant without a bad table to sit at. We had a beautiful ocean view overlooking the Atlantic.

This place has IT factor written all over it. IT is everything! J&G Grill is stunning. Service was wonderful. My meal was phenomenal. High ceilings and stunning views before me, surely I was on the west coast or at a sophisticated restaurant somewhere in NYC. This is one of those very rare South Florida times where a restaurant delivers big on every aspect. We have a lot of good food here but restaurants often lack in either ambiance, location or the usual suspect: service. Well, not here! J + G Grill hit all the right notes. Valet parked our car ($12.00 with validation) and walked the monochrome luxurious hallway all the way to the back where the restaurant is nestled inside the St. Regis Hotel. We were welcomed immediately and seated right away. Our booth was mid-room and offered wonderful views. Menus on hand our adventure began. We started with some warm bread and the decanting of our wine. ($45.00 corkage fee). For starters: - HAMACHI SASHIMI- note to self. Order two of these just for me next time. It had a light crunch to it and so fresh that I bet it was swimming hours before. Delicious! - ORANGE DUSTED SEA SCALLOPS- these were good but actually my least favorite of the night. Not as flavorful as I expected and the "orange" was truly a dust because I did not taste it. - FETTUCCINE WITH MEYER LEMON- perfection We then moved on to our entrees: - JACKMAN RANCH WAGYU TOMAHAWK STEAK- It is huge and meant for two people. They serve it table-side with wild mushrooms and fingerling potatoes. Just perfection. - MAINE LOBSTER WITH MEYER LEMON RISOTTO. Perfect - DOVER SOLE GRENOBLOISE- Melt in your mouth, delicate perfection. - BLACK TRUFFLE CHEESE FRITTERS- did you read the name? it's all that and then some. I could have a couple of orders of that all by myself. My only complaint would be that all of the above could have been hotter. I could have sent it back I am sure but I could not wait to dig into all of it so I didn't. We were there for a good three hours and not once were we rushed. The service was wonderful the entire night without being overbearing. It was exactly how I like it: glasses refilled without me even noticing (or maybe that was the effect of the wine?) Our wine was decanted and served in a timely fashion as well. For dessert we had a SORBET TRIO: mango, coconut and one more I can't remember. That was OK. The star was the SALTED CARAMEL ICE DREAM SUNDAE with PEANUTS, POP CORN and CHOCOLATE SAUCE. We have had Jean George's original one at ABC Kitchen in NYC. It was not exactly the same but similar enough to be stellar and the perfect way to end our night. This one is going high on my FAVORITES list.

Visiting Miami for a weekend, we decided to make a reservation for fine dining at J & G Grill. Our group of four was promptly seated for a 9:30 reservation. We happen to be visiting during Miami Spice allowing us to have a full three course meal for $39 per person. Three in my party including myself decided to order from the pre-fixe menu, the last guest ordered a la carte. All selections were simply delicious. The crab cake appetizer, octopus and duck were amazing. For entrees, one had the for Lobster (Amazing), two fish (Delicious) and one steak (made as specified). We all ordered a variety and each entree prepared was quite enjoyable. The attention to detail, level of service, and exceptional food is well worth a visit to dine. The waiter overheard us toasting Happy Birthday, when dessert was presented the guest had a Birthday message on the plate and complimentary birthday macaroons were given to us each. My allergens were noted during the reservation, and the waiter made sure he helped with selecting the proper entrees. The entire experience is quite memorable. Perfect rating for J & G Grill. (from a New Yorker)

4.5 stars. Excellent meal, service and atmosphere. Probably ranks as one of my top 5 restaurants in Miami. Tried the Miami Spice. Portions are small but still delicious. Would definitely recommend checking this place out.
(4)Jeff F.
Short Story: 4.5 stars based on the food alone. I rounded up to five stars because of exceptional service from Christo & the rest of the staff. Long Story: Putting aside a huge bias I have against hotel restaurants, we decided to try J&G largely based on the great experience we had at Fern (St. Regis Bahia Beach). I was impressed at the flawless service and exceptional food: - Hamachi app - ridiculous - Brussels sprouts & fries were perfect sides - Bone-In Filet cook - fantastic - We ordered two desserts: Warm Chocolate Cake w/ Ice Cream and Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sundae w/ Peanuts, Popcorn and Chocolate Sauce. They were good enough that we came back and had them again the next night. If you're staying at the St. Regis, it's a no-brainer to have at least one meal here since the alternatives are 47 Italian restaurants and a few other choices.

Despite hiccups with the service, I was quite pleased with my Miami Spice dining experience at J&G Grill. Word to the wise - portions are small. If you have a big appetite, consider ordering a few additional plates for your table to share. First, I'd be remiss not to mention the absolutely stunning setting of J&G inside the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort. Located all the way at the back, just walking through the mirrored hallways imparts the opulence of the location. The restaurant overlooks the pool and beach - a beautiful South Florida location if there ever was one. During dinner, we had the pleasure if seeing the moon rise on the horizon, and it was purely breathtaking. For our Spice indulgence, we opted to vary our orders so we could sample a bit of everything. As starters, we had the salmon sashimi and the beet salad. Both were outstanding, but I was truly impressed with the variety and amount of the beets in my salad. I'd definitely order that again. On to the main course - the crispy lake trout and the skirt steak were our options. The plating of the steak really made you realize how small the portion size was, but it was truly delicious, served with a chimichurri-type sauce and whipped potatoes. The trout was a slightly bigger portion, and was flaky and delicious. I'd order either plate again. But dessert is where J&G really shines. Their pastry chef, Antonio Bachour, is knocking it out of the park left and right. On our visit, we opted to try the chocolate dessert (can't remember the name) and the PB&J bar (can't remember the exact name of this one either). Both were absolutely delectable. I wish I could remember exactly what was in each to give praise, but just know this - if you dine at J&G Grill and don't order dessert, you might as well have not dined there at all. Overall, a great spot to take advantage of Miami Spice at a luxury dining restaurant. While portions are small, they will wow your taste buds and leave you clamoring for more.

This is the way to do it. If you want a quality meal ,spectacular views, amazing ambiance, exceptional service, then this is the place. My senses were on fire. Wow,what an experience. Everthing about this place had my neurons charged. I was positively galvanized by the experience here. 5 stars all the way for making my dining experience amazing.

My date did not make dinner reservations so we decided to sit at the bar and have a few drinks while we wait for a table. Turns out the bar area was just as comfortable and the bartenders (girl and guy duo) were excellent! They were so friendly, professional and attentive. The cucumber martini was light and refreshing. The bartenders were just as knowledgeable with the food menu as any server would be. We made a decision to just stay at the bar. I would also like to point out chef Brad. What an amazing chef. He came out (we requested of course) and spoke to us for a bit. We really appreciated him taking the time from his busy night to come over to where we were. The FOOD was fresh and tasty. Please look at my pictures! Overall amazing customer service, food, drinks, management team and staff. Worth every penny! anotherGREATexperience

Worst service We said light on the sauces Everything came drenched in dressing Tuna was swimming in sauce Hamachi too We asked for no garlic on anything Tomahawk steak had garlic At that price we were not happy Vegetables reeked of garlic Waiter disappeared for most of meal and never came over to ask how it was Jean Georges if you lend your name to a restaurant you better make sure it's up to your standards ..or maybe this is your standards???? Very disappointed Expected better from you

Choose this restaurant from those partiicipating in "Miami Spice." Best part of the experience was the ambience:, clamshell shaped room with ocean view, high ceilings and minimalist decor. exquisite. Long wait for menus after being seated although they were only about one third full, and had a large wait staff, tepid kettle one martini,, very small portions of average quality food that was over spiced and served with inedible garnish; a side order of mushrooms were the texture of calamari. Servers were out of contact, taking away plates before we were finished. They added a 15% service charge to the bill and a line requesting a tip amount. If you go, have the reduced parking fee of 15.00 dollars avaliable in cash so you can skip the line to pay if you're using a card.

Went for brunch, the menu was pretty good and the prices were high as expected. The service is 5 stars all day, and the venue is beautiful with beach and pool views. The food is where the issues are, I'm not saying it was "bad", but it wasn't very good. I got a special which was short rib and chorizo hash with 2 sunny side up eggs on top. The hash just wasn't that good, and the eggs were overcooked. The hash was more like a stir fry than a proper chopped hash. The 4 people I was with, none of us were too impressed with the food, it was all decent, but for a $160 brunch I would have expected better food. Portions are very small as well, even for European standards.

It's Miami Spice month which permits us the luxury of trying some of the Best Restaurants in town for a measly 39$ for 3 courses. Now some of you may question the audacity of me saying that but we are talking Restaurants who charge that price for their entrees only. World Class restaurants like the J&G are like attending an International Event headed by their GM Anthony who warmly greets at the door and welcomes us to the Event. Melanie our waitress serves us with such elegance and professionalism supported by their Sommelier Nino pouring the Vino that we are in a state of awe and grateful that we picked this place as one of our Miami Spice selections. Now you must do your homework because among the Great are the Ordinary and some of the Participants reluctantly participate but that's not the case at J&G who magically replicate every Great dish they have on their regular menu. We start the evening with Amuse Gules on a spoon that the pate just melts in our mouths and starts our engines in preparation of what's next. We continues with Duck Confit that has some of the most delicious baby artichokes I have ever tasted also on the menu is a crab cake full of crab coated in Panko and swimming in a light sauce that peaks our palate with Originality. The Hamachi Tartar completes our tasting of the appetizers all 6 stars. We continue on our main courses all along being served promptly and courteously by their staff as if we were alone in the place, incredible feeling. The main courses of Wagu Steak and Wild Salmon continued by Poussin which by the way we discovered is a baby chicken that melted in your mouth. The word enthusiastic, unbelievable, would be words to best describe everything we ate and drank including three different desserts which I will leave to your imaginations to discover on your own. It's like a movie that we don't share with you the ending but trust me you will Be impressed. Great artists are not born everyday and neither are Great Chefs and when you discover them you have been blessed and that's how we felt all night. Make your reservations early and get to enjoy this place at Miami Spice prices and beware of its potential to seduce you as you continue way after Miami Spice is over to crave in returning to their embrace.

The restaurant is located in the beautiful St. Regis hotel. There is not one bad thing I can say about the restaurant, but it just felt average for such a high end place. I started with looking for a cocktail, but was surprised that there were only about six options on the menu. The service was good. The food was good. But nothing had a "wow" moment and I guess I expect more of one when paying higher prices at a fancier restaurant. The black truffle pizza was an enjoyable appetizer. I felt that the black truffle cheese fritters were a real disappointment. For my main course I ordered the gnocchi with lobster. The presentation was beautiful, but the portion was tiny. I can understand the lobster being a smaller portion, but then you should go overboard with the gnocchi. That certainly would not have been an expense to them. They were the smallest gnochis I had ever seen and the smallest serving size I have ever received. Still, everything was tasty, but I did not see or taste anything that makes J&G standout from the endless other classy restaurants in the tri county area. Again, there was really nothing wrong with J&G, but if you are going to spend that much money for a meal then there are hundreds of other options at that same price level that are much more special culinary delights.

This review is exclusively for the bar/dessert. We had already eaten dinner and were interested in dessert and drinks. The pastry chef here Antonio Bachour is megamazeballs. I had the crème brule (if it's on the menu it's what I order) and my g.f. had a caramel corn sunday type thing. I wont speak for her but I can only say that my dessert was the single most masterfully concocted creamy perfectly toasted custard I've ever had the pleasure of inhaling. Literally the first bite made me do that thing where your eyes roll back and you nod your head like someone just asked if you love puppies WHILE SHOWING YOU PUPPIES. Pure unadulterated sweet happiness. The bartender then blessed me with an expertly prepared old fashion. I like whiskey in my whiskey and this young lady pulled no punches. As for bar selection I feel that any bar with the amount of brown they have on hand is ok in my book. My bar mates were equally pleased. Next brunch.

Décor is super contemporary. Ocean front views. Great wine selections. Food was great, dessert was even better. Overall 4.5 , server's weren't impressive or very attentive. Definitely worth the drive to check out two very talented chefs!

Came here for a special anniversary dinner. Mentioned this beforehand and champagne was poured right away when we were seated. Ordered the tuna tartare and the black truffle pizza. The tartare was expertly crafted - the sauce was fragrant and refreshing and the tuna was high quality. The truffle pizza was a unique appetizer tasty. For entrees, we had the roasted lobster and the fliet. Filet was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. Sides were mashed potatoes and black truffle cheese fritters. Highly recommend the fritters for a little taste explosion. Dessert we had the creme brulee and warm chocolate cake - both impressive. Should note that I asked the waiter for a recommendation on a smooth cab and he got it spot on - the Mondavi Emblem cab went perfect with my filet - so don't be afraid to ask! The pours were also very generous. All together, a great dining experience in an intimate setting. Will definitely be returning for a special ocassion.

What a great bday brunch gift...the space was gorgeous, elite, fancy and worth every penny.. The valet is free sidenote... On to the food we had the eggs Benedict, shrimp pizza, crab cakes, and grouper I'd have to say I love eggs Benedict and am a big fan of balans breakfast and different Benedict's these were superior! Perfectly cooked and arrived promptly, the pizza was interesting tasty and not too overpowering. The crab cake was delicious as well, big lumps and not oily at all, however small for even a app.... My gf grouper reminded me of makatos juicy and not dry fish... Overall a wonderful experience I can't wait to try the dinner menu The cocktails were superb

Phenomenal food, exactly what you expect from a J&G. Service is beyond "white glove", it is "platinum glove". They really take care of you. Can be a little pricey, but they have Prix Fixe lunch menu, and validate parking. If you come to Miami Beach, Bal Harbour on vacation, then going to J&G is a must-do. If you live here, then this is a great place to have a romantic lunch or dinner.

Went to eat there last Wednesday night with a friend to try out the Miami Spice menu. I've eaten there before, and was even served a tasting menu by the former Chef Gras. I was excited to bring my friend and enjoy our meal at the St. Regis. Let's start with the service - terrible. I give the service a 2-star, especially for the St. Regis! We sat there for over 25 minutes with our menu's and no one bothered to stop and get our drink order or even water. The server was inattentive - and had no idea about what was on the menu, and she was rude! Their Miami Spice menu reads better than the actual execution of it. The appetizers were not great choices, and the portions were ridiculously small. They should opt for more traditional appetizers. When we requested to alter the salad appetizer by putting one of the ingredients on the side, the server simply said 'no'. I selected the swordfish tataki appetizer, the skirt steak entree, and the lemon cremeux dessert. The swordfish was okay. It was tough as swordfish is, not really a good choice for tataki. I have tried J&G's hamachi tataki previously, and that has been delicious. The skirt steak entree was not an entree, heck it wasn't even an appetizer portion. My plate had a few slices of steak which they did manage to cook to my liking with is medium-rare. I couldn't find the bacon-dill butterball potatoes over noisette pomme puree anywhere on my dish. The chimichurri was not edible as it was quite spicy, contrary to what the server assured me of. My friend ordered the calamari stuffed with lamb sausage appetizer, the skirt steak entree, and the coconut ganache dessert. When the calamari appetizer arrived at the table, we were kind of shocked. A single calamari with no evidence of lamb sausage anywhere. It was also raw, and this was not described on the menu nor did the server mention it. My friend returned the dish without even tasting it. The server did not make any intention to supply my friend with another choice from the menu. The server rudely took the untouched plate of single calamari away, and not a manager stopped by to ask how they could make our dining experience better. The lemon cremeux was good and artful on the plate. The coconut ganache was better than the lemon dessert. Of the three courses, the desert was the biggest portion they served - which was also tiny. Miami Spice menu is not intended to be an amuse bouche affair. Perhaps the change in Chef has altered their kitchen & staff. Be prepared to stop at a 'cheap eats' or Five Guys on the way home for your tummy..... Overall, this was a very disappointing Miami Spice dining experience. Portions were ridiculously small, service was terrible, food was not delicious. Skip it!

5 star service for 4.5 star food. I was very compelled to write a review since my boyfriend took me to eat here and surprised me with an engagement ring. per my BF he had called them the night before to see if they can help him with the occasion. the restaurant did not hesitate and made the night EXTRA special for us. the staff was top notch. I hope they get many more rave reviews !because it is extremely good. We had filet Mignon which was very tasty and the black truffle cheese fritts.... Small portions but as expected from a fancy restaurant. I was disappointed they did not have that mango dessert which I saw pictures posted. Great wine list. Nice view, nice location, no complaints. Anthony the manager was awesome! He made us feel very special while giving us privacy at the same time. Thank you guys!! Most likely we'll be back for anniversary's :)

walking into the st regis is an experience all its own. its sleek and modern, chic and mysterious. we followed the very long hallway allllll the way to the back, passing no one, just lots of mirrors. we arrived right on time for our reservation and were taken to our window side table with gorgeous views of the ocean. we started with some cocktails while reviewing the menu and decided on the black truffle pizza which was just divine. and a special of the night appetizer - rock shrimp arugula salad with key lime sorbet - yes you read correctly key lime sorbet on top of the salad. it was an experience eating that salad. perfect flavors. I had the veal chop and it was amazing. best veal ive ever had. cooked just right. my husband and father shared the wagyu tomahawk steak - what a presentation. served in the copper pot, perfectly sliced and surrounded by fingerling potatoes and an assortment of other veggies. my mom went with the black cod and she raved it was delicious although a bit spicy. the fries were possibly some of the best ive ever had. and the creamed spinach beats out any other steakhouse ive ever been to. we also had a few wines by the glass which the sommelier helped select and were excellent. for dessert we tried the banana napoleon which I was disappointed with -shoulve listened to Brenda P's review and gone with the sundae. the cheesecake was just right. and the sorbet trio was good but no wow factor there. the service was nice and pleasant throughout the night. I cant give 5 stars because I was not wow'd at any point thru the night. nothing was a standout, none of the dishes were mind blowing (except maybe the shrimp salad) and the service while good wasn't out of this world. also they were out of several items that night - dover sole, poached fried egg, cheese fritters to name a few. I liked it but I didn't love it. I would stick to other restaurants that offer that extra oomph when I want a fancy dining experience.

The place was beautiful with a nice scenery and service was spot on very well done job and what u would hope and expect from a 5 star establishment Everything was freshly made and so attentive loved the truffle pizza and the cod was spot on I love to fo out in south beach but this is atleast a once in a while trek out from the oridinary that's worth it !
(5)Denny S.
The food here is amazing we ordered a huge steak for two which just melted in our mouths....the views from the resturant are lovely.... However for me fine dinning needs to have a white table cloth on the table.... I think it's tacky to do fine dinning on a place mat for this reason only have I given a 3 stars

Fantastic experience. Highly recommend this restaurant. The setting is stunning and the food and service were so not Miami...loved it! We started out at their bar close to sunset which I recommend doing as the ocean view is amazing through their 30 foot floor to ceiling windows. The bartender was extremely outgoing and recommended cocktails based on flavor profiles we enjoyed - I ended up with a killer Manhattan. The menu is reasonable for a Jean Georges restaurant and portions are more than sufficient and geared towards sharing. Enjoy!

The restaurant is located on the St. Regis in Bal Harbour. The hotel is beautiful and the staff attentive and helpful. We had reservations and were immediately seated at a table for two overlooking the ocean, which we had requested. We decided to order from the Miami Spice menu which offered a 3 course meal for $39 per person. I chose the wine pairing as well for an additional $35. I started with the quail and my wife had the lobster raviola. The presentation was perfection and both appetizers were incredibly delicious. My dish was accompanied by the best Pinot Grigio I have ever tasted. The sommelier was clearly passionate about wine. The portions are tiny (Top Chef style) which is typical of fine dining. We then tried the black truffle pizza which was amazing but definitely pricey at $23 for 4 small slices. For the second course, I had the striped bass with mussels while my wife had the short ribs. The bass was good, but by far the most disappointing dish of the night. My wife's short rib was delicious, as was the Pinot Noir that accompanied my dish. For dessert, I had the carrot cake and my wife had the key lime bar with coconut sorbet. Both were excellent. Worth noting is the special attention we received since we were celebrating our anniversary. The sommelier presented us with some refreshing Prosecco and the server brought us a dish that said "Happy Anniversary" with four delicious macaroons. Overall, a fantastic evening. It's definitely a treat and worthwhile for special occasions. Be prepared to pay the $18% gratuity already added to the bill and $15 for valet parking - as long as your server validates your ticket- otherwise it's $25.

Truly a five star - this is a top tier restaurant. J&G is a solid experience of great service, great atmosphere and great food. Don't over order, share there Is a a lot to try. 2 people shared; The fried poached eggs - never tried anything like this before. Very rich and very fried Grouper with black bean - a light dish, with a bit of spice and a perfectly cooked fish. Side of asparagus - simple and grilled My martini was excellent - very well made and great glass. The wine by the glass was actually reasonable. We finished off with the molten chocolate cake for dessert. It was excellent. This place ain't cheap - but it is a great time.

We were excited to try the Spice Market menu, unfortunately the food was very over salted and the service was lack luster to non - existent. For the $$$ (400) we will stay with our local Thai and steak house. The quality and service as re markedly superior.

This Jean George franchise has made its way to South Florida with the opening of the St. Regis Hotel. The restaurant is a contrast in concepts. It is upscale, but bistro in concept. It is formal in design and service, but meant to be grill-like casual in concept. But in the end, the constants of a successful restaurant are present--very good service and very good food. The service is what you would expect of a fine restaurant. I could not exactly remember who my designated server was, but that was only the result of the fact that if ever something came to mind that required attention, before you look up somebody is present at your table to assist. This truly is an accomplishment for any restaurant, let alone a restaurant that was open only a few weeks at the when I went. The food is very good. On this evening, we had two appetizers--the spicy tuna tartare and the hamachi. The hamachi was very good. I cannot say it stood out from other versions you may find in other upscale restaurants like Nobu or Zuma or casual restaurants like Yakko San. The spicy tuna was very good. I will say that my first look at the dish did not make me think it would taste good. The tuna was lumped on the plate and looked like a heavy ball of pinkish peach mayo. It was a little off-putting. But the taste delivers. I found the texture of the dish very nice, with the fine-grinding of the tuna contrasted with the crunchy pearls of an unknown ingredient. One warning. If you do not like spice, then you may want to avoid this dish. While most restaurants have a spicy tuna dish, it never is really that spicy. This dish definitely packed the heat. I enjoyed that fact, but some may not. In terms of entrees, I had an item from the grill side of the menu. The grill menu offers you what I believe were five different items (fishes, meats, etc.), which you then can have accompanied by two sauces. I selected the red snapper and had it come with a miso mustard sauce and chili glaze sauce. The chili glaze was too sweet and pass for me. The miso mustard was good, with a nice layering of flavor. The fish was expertly prepared. My dining partner had the grilled veal chop. The veal chop was cooked perfectly. To accompany our entrees, we had the black truffle cheese fritters. This is a great side. The outside is perfectly fried and the interior is flavorful and in no way dense or heavy. To the end the meal, we had the cheesecake. This was a recommendation of the server and a great choice. I was surprised just how much I enjoyed it. The cheesecake was cool in temperature, making it more enjoyable. And the kumquat provided a wonderful citrus complement. While there are many positives, I do have a few draw backs. First and foremost, the drinks are tiny. If you wish to start the evening by asking if your diners want a cocktail, then please be sure to provide a cocktail. Pouring a two ounce glass of wine in a goblet the size of a human head is a terrible presentation and a terrible way to start an evening. If you are going to bring to the table a very good martini and in a very pretty art deco style glass, then do not ruin the experience with a just 2 ounces of gin. It is not acceptable. Second, there is the seriousness of the place. I walked in under the impression the restaurant was trying to go with something less formal and less fancy. None of that came through. I have no problem with upscale and formal. In fact, one of the truly pleasurable parts of the evening was seeing men in blazers and women dressed up. You do not have to be in a blazer to eat here and women do not need to dress up, but it was nice to see some people dressed up. This probably is a function of the upscale nature of the hotel, which results in a slightly better dressed crowd. Third, the pricing. I was actually surprised at the prices for the entrees. A veal chop under $40 is not often seen, and not something I would expect to have seen at this place. But there it was. But where the restaurant makes good on reasonably priced entrees (this is only reasonable given the context of the restaurant--upscale resto in high end hotel that is backed by a very high end chef), it takes away all that good will with the appetizer pricing. The appetizers are nearly as much as the entrees. These are nits so that tells you this place is good. I am glad this place is here. With this restaurant and its competitor but not competitor DB in downtown Miami, we are starting to see South Florida take the next step in evolving as a restaurant destination.

Atmosphere was amazing. Decidedly different from most venues in South Florida. Food was exceptional. Service was beyond. If you're tired of cliche SoBe or Brickel disappointments, you will enjoy this immensely.

Underwhelming, to say the least, was my first Jean-Georges experience. Food: The yellowfin tartare was fresh, but the potato chips it was served between were overly salted. Himashi sashimi was overly dressed in ponzu and salt, which made for an extremely sour and salty taste for a mild flavored fish. However, the fettuccine with lemon and parmesen was good and surprisingly didn't separate (dairy and citrus). The pork chop was very nicely cooked and stayed juicy, but the corn served with it was too salty. The smoked peaches on top was a nice touch. The wagyu short ribs were off-putting, with a bitterness or sweet & sourness that was reminiscent of Chinese 5-spice powder applied with a heavy hand. A fellow diner mentioned that it had been better on previous occasions. For dessert we had something of a key lime custard, which I could not make heads or tails of. It was far too sour (coming from someone who eats lemons) and filled with uncomplimentary flavors. Service: The waiter served water to everyone but me, so I was left waterless for 15 minutes until I asked for it. The drink refills were not as smooth as they could have been, and the waitress was so soft-spoken many of us could not hear her. She had nothing to add to the menu and did not seem to try very hard. Ambience: Beautifully decorated inside the gorgeous St. Regis, the decor was the best part about this place. Quite and classy. Bottom Line: For a Michelin-star rated chef, I expected much more - especially of the food.

J & G Grill serves awesome food. Just to name a few, we ordered the black truffle pizza, tuna tartare, fettuchini, lobster, and the black cod, which were all amazing! Perhaps my favorite part was dessert! We got the salted caramel ice cream sundae which was topped with caramel popcorn and this chocolate sauce.... DELICIOUS!! The atmosphere is also very sophisticated with a beautiful view. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Miami!

Not much to say other than, great ambiance, great food, and an exceptional wine list. Service is impeccable and all staff understand the meaning of service. There is nothing that I can think of that they can do better. Dress resort dressy casual...?? Tommy Bahama slacks and a button down works. Even neat jeans and loafers work. As is standard, a dinner jacket is always appropriate for a true gentleman. ( I didn't wear one...I was on VACATION!!!) Love it.

A M A Z I N G Wagyu Tomahawk Steak!! Im not sure about the rest of their menu but by far the best steak I had in South Florida, if you know a better please message me!! I would love to try! Perfect for two to share, juicy and very flavorful! I am addicted! We also had the crispy salmon rice, Comte Fritters and Panna cott dessert.

What can I say, this place was everything I thought it would be and more. I ordered the filet mignon and it was the size of a hockey puck, HUGE, and very tasty. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Geiset. She was very accommodating and surprisingly knowledgable about all the food offered on the menu as well as any wine pairings. We have another reservation for next week. Beautiful hotel and view. Busy, so you need a reservation.

I had a great brunch date at the J&G Grille on Sunday. The venue is stunning - beautiful ocean views, a gorgeous dining room with very high ceilings and floor to ceiling glass windows, and the nicest and most attentive waiters and waitresses you will find in Miami. The food is very good too, but it falls short of what you would expect for a $75 per head lunch. What I liked: 1) The world famous St Regis hospitality. Every time I stay at a St Regis property, I am impressed that he staff throughout the property know my name. Even while just visiting for brunch, the word seemed to get from Valet Parking to the dining room, so we were greeted by name. The friendliness continues throughout - the service is prompt but not overbearing, the staff are really friendly and helpful. It doesn't get better than this. I wish everyone had St Regis culture. 2) Fantastic resort and dining room. If you want to impress someone this is a great place. We had a table for two, next to the window, and enjoyed an ocean view while savoring our Sunday brunch. But its not just the view. The whole St Regis is like a modern fairytale palace. It must have been designed by jewelers - the finishing is that perfect. It is fun to explore. The piano bar is fantastic, as is the wine vault. 3) The food is good. Everything we had was tasty and well done, but generally lacked the wow factor. I would recommend the Smoked Salmon and Poached Egg on Brioche. That was great. The Black Truffle Cheese Fritters are a wow side dish. The black truffle cheese burger and the Gruyere Omelette were pretty lackluster. What I didn't like: 1) Food lacks wow factor. The only dish that really impressed us was the Black truffle cheese fritters. The other dishes were very good, but not memorable in any way. Given the prices and the fact that this is a St Regis, I expected better. 2) No Self Parking. Valet is complimentary, and the valet parkers seemed like responsible people, but I would have liked self-parking. This is critical when serving the performance automobile enthusiast. I don't want my race tuned alignment messed up by a kid who thinks speed bumps don't matter.

Three ladies had a delightful experience at lunch. The staff was without flaw, charming, knowledgeable, and fun, always makes a meal more enjoyable. Hamachi, lobster rolls, the best french fries ever, swordfish sandwich, and desserts were all delicious and beautifully plated. We will return. This is my first 5 star review, hope I can make more in different places!

Fabulous food and service. Just what you'd expect from Jean-George!

Found out about this Chef Vongerichten restaurant in Bal Harbour by accident. Was not a fan of the tasting menu - or anything really - at Jean Georges in New York, so I ordered as though I was at a steakhouse and was not disappointed. The caviar egg, though not as refined (or as good) as the very similar dish served at Chef Chang's Momofuku Ko, is really quite good. Steak, foie gras and sides were prepared perfectly. Dessert was pretty good as well. I'll have to have dinner at Chef Boulud's place before I can say which is my preferred Miami restaurant, but J&G Grill is definitely a contender.

The experience in one word... Insane! The restaurant is located in the St. Regis Hotel in Bal Harbour. The design is elegant and contemporary. The hotel is beautiful. The food... Thank you Jean Georges for bringing your talents to Miami Beach. It is greatly appreciated. Here is an overview of our dinner: Spicy Tuna Tartare with Black Olive, Cucumber and Avocado - this was outstanding. By far, the BEST tuna tartare we ever ate. We almost ordered it again! Hamachi Sashimi with Shiitake Mushrooms, Soy-Ginger Dressing - Absolutely perfect. refreshing and just right. Peekytoe Crab Cake with Pink Grapefruit, Ginger - Not over breaded. great crab cake. Milk Fed Veal Chop, Pistachio Pesto with Roasted Cauliflower - Perfectly done. The sherry marinade and the roasted cauliflower were perfect. Soy Glazed Short Ribs with Apple-Jalapeño Puree, Rosemary Crumbs - I know it sounds a bit strange, but this was melt in your mouth delicious. Black Truffle Cheese Fritters - All I can say is wow. Warm Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream - Need I say more? Warm Apple Crisp with Cinnamon Ice Cream - Great. The cinnamon ice cream was intense and the desert itself was perfection. I cannot wait to return. The food, service and atmosphere was truly 5 star!

Excellent.. And that was just for lunch! I had a lunch meeting and we chose a place that was in between Sunny Isles and South Beach. We decided on J&G. From the immaculate presentation of the staff and restaurant to our knowledgeable waiter who was more than friendly, you can tell a professional restauranteur, who has built many fantastic places globally, had his hand in creating, what I consider, perfection. I've been to most of Jean George's restaurants around the world and this one doesn't disappoint. Granted, I was only here for a simple lunch, but isn't it great that we can experience a world renown chef's interpretation of a simple lunch... I love it.. I ordered the cheeseburger.. but this was not simply just a burger. The bun was fluffy yet had enough density to absorb any of the juices which flowed from the burger tomato or the lovely truffle infused sauce. The meat was cooked medium rare, flavorful and lacked the heavy feel of fatty meat. The lettuce was crisp and COLD, as it should be to not just give you texture but to also tease your taste buds with temperature. This is one of the finest burgers I ever had. I'm planning dinner here as soon as my schedule allows. I will then update my review...

Definitely not as impressed as I thought I would by this place. The hotel is magnificent and the restaurant was nice. I like how the tables are separated so you are not sitting on top of other people. We ordered the hamachi to start the presentation was nice but the and the way they chopped the avocado the taste was noting special. Also we got the seared scallops with fresh artichoke hearts. I didn't think the scallops got a good sear on them. For my entree I got the black cod I was not a fan of the sauce or the fish. Also got a side of creamed spinach. For dessert we split the salted Carmel ice cream with popcorn and hot chocolate. The dessert was small and nothing special. For a Monday night the place was packed 90% of the tables were taken. I was glad I checked it out but I definitely will not be running back to eat here.

I've dined at many of Jean George's restaurants and always have a nice experience. I feel bad about giving them three starts but I think it's deserved. I came in at lunch time for a burger by myself and decided to sit at a table (I realize that's creepy but they have a great view of the pool and the ocean). They're located in the newly renovated St. Regis. Anyways - the server approached me and took my drink order. When he returned I told him I'd have the burger and he assured me it was a "good choice". I know it might not seem like a big deal but this drives me crazy. I would expect that from a server at Friday's and wouldn't think twice. At finer restaurants the server should be suggesting items if asked and should never say something is a "good choice" as if there are bad choices. I guess I'm just uptight but this rubs me the wrong way. The burger came out and the bun was nice and fresh and toasted, the beef was to temp and the fries were hot and crispy. The burger had brie on it which I was skeptical about but gave it a shot anyways. Wasn't thrilled. What put the nail in the coffin was when the server returned and said "Wasn't that good? Sure beats Burger King" and then questioned me about my name. I guess this post isn't so much about the food as it was fine and up to JG standards.

Absolutely top notch experience. Great, professional service; creative, expertly executed dishes; and knowledgable sommeliers. From start to finish, this is the new Miami "hotspot" for fine dining. Highlights for appetizers included the truffle pizza with fontina cheese (I never order pizza, but WOW, do it); hamachi with ginger and avocado (fresh, clean and absolutely delicious); and caviar with poached egg (trust me, order this). Mains included seed crusted snapper (my son dominated the dish); a beautiful piece of perfectly cooked halibut; and the best duck this side of the pecos (whatever "pecos" is). The grilled tuna was a tad thin, my only small critique. I prefer a thick tuna steak. Even deserts were outrageous. Overall, one of the better high end dining establishments in South Florida.

Went here for Miami Spice. First off, it took about 30 minutes before the waiter to notice us at our table. He was very abrupt with our order, although the restaurant was half empty. Anyway as a starter, I chose the yellowfin tuna, as an entree, salmon (can't remember the fancy name for it) and the key lime pie as a dessert. Overall, the food was ok. Nothing special. However, I will give them credit for presentation. They give you pint size portions so don't come there with an appetite. The restaurant itself, is nice. It overlooks the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. But seen nicer ambience at better high end restaurants. The prices were ridiculous since they give you pint or maybe even bite size portions meals. Considering the low quality of service, mediocre taste of food, and very high price meals, I won't be back. If you really want to try this place out like I did, wait for Miami Spice time. I'm so happy that I did.

Service was spot on, not too talky, not too present, just enough. The bread basket to start is good. Not as wide a selection as other outposts, but still very fine bread. Miami Spice menu was a good value for the price. Florida pink shrimp w yogurt sauce and radish was light and tart and really just perfect. Mushroom fricasse with balsamic atop polenta was earthy and encouraged sleepy thoughts. 2 day braised lamb was fork tender and rich in flavor. Scallops were a bit bland but the fresh sweet corn, grilled peppers, and string beans were amazing and helped carry the scallops. Had the truffle fritters on the side, these are just crazy filled with truffleness, maybe too much for me, but I know other people who might just walk on the beach, alone, after midnight, with their wallet and phone and flashy jewels, between 10th and 20th, for these little puffs (more like ball bearings) of decadence. Candy bar dessert with peanut ice cream and homemade cracker jack was super. Passion fruit panna cotta with mango and something else was just the nicest most refreshing yet satisfying thing I've had in a long time and I would like to take home a gallon container if it wasn't so darn pricey. I'll be back when they change the spice menu, which is every week, and after that when I pay off grad school, which will take more than a few weeks.

In a city where homegrown chefs (Michelle Bernstein, Michael Schwartz, Dewey Losasso) consistently outshine celebrities in seek of a tropical outpost (Emeril, Nobu, Bolud), we didn't go into J&G with the highest of hopes. We were elated to be wrong - J&G provided an exceptional dinner experience. The setting is hardly understated, in the opulent lobby of the new St. Regis. The staff was appropriately formal without being stuffy... we were amused by the sheer number of managers who stopped by the table over the course of dinner, but our actual server was charming and not shy to give recommendations (which all panned out). As an avowed food nerd and snob, I resent the hell out of being upsold - I took it as a good sign early on that our server happily steered our four-top toward splitting two appetizers when were debating whether to order four. He recommended dishes in different price points, and endorsed our wine choices that were in the $60 range. (The wine list is exceptional for Miami... filled with interesting choices, at least half of which I'd say are under $100 and lots of which are under $75... I'm getting a little tired of 50-page wine lists that have only a dozen bottles in the two-figure range.) Seafood rules at J&G. We loved both starters: hamachi sashimi with a fine dice of crisp vegetable, and Vongerichten's traditional tuna tartare. Do not miss one of the new restaurant's signature entrees: a red snapper caked with a nut-and-spice crust and plated in a powerful broth that he calls "sweet and sour," but which gets no justice from that label. It's rich and bold and pungent, a slowly reduced vegetable stock with olive oil and citrus. This may be the best fish dish I've ever eaten. And while I normally love the hands-off approach to seafood preparation (see Area 31 downtown), this is aggressiveness done to perfection. Strong reviews, too, for a thick veal chop over caramelized cauliflower and simply grilled sea scallops with a light miso dijon sauce. Bottom line: if you're going to splurge in Miami, there are plenty of famous names in swanky hotels who are willing to take your coin. J&G Grill absolutely earns it.

We went for lunch and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had! It comes with Brie cheese and tartuffo aioli!! Amazing!!
